Same Sun Here is all sorts of perfect for those of us separated from our families during this pandemic.

This novel written in the form of letters that River, an Appalachian boy from a Kentucky, and Meena, an Indian American girl from New York City, send back and forth to each other. Both of their fathers live away from the family to work, filling the book with so much longing.

There’s a moment in the book where Meena says that there must be people all around the world who feel a longing for the place they came from.

Though this book was written ten years ago, there are so many moments of this book for readers to connect with in regards to our current moment.

Def pick it up if you haven’t already. The audiobook, narrated by the authors, is even available on Scribd!
